Broadcasting Christmas

First movie set I got to be apart of and now I can finally retire!!! Okay that was a lie, mainly because I was there for one day as a replacement for another PA who had a wedding to go to but I had a great time anyway. First off I got to work with three crew members I've PA'd with on past shoots. Second I was able to meet  Jackee Harry (Sister Sister) Dean Cain (Hit the Floor and Lois & Clark) and Melissa Joan Heart (Melissa & Joey and Sabrina the Teenage Witch) who were all very down to Earth. I spent the most time with Dean who was really funny and took lots of pictures with fans who stumbled upon set.
Side note: you will think you are hearing voices when you come home after being on set but remember it's just left over walkie buzz.

The Unexplained

As I've mentioned before, I got over the fear I had of driving cube trucks and 15-passenger vans from one state to the next and sometimes even city to city from previous shoots.
However, for this shoot I was told that I had to drive a van from CT to the D.M.V area (Washington, DC/Maryland/Virginia) with a crew then after the shoot was finished I had to make the 340 mile journey back solo. I was definitely scared, especially since my idea of a long trip is driving 75 miles from CT to Boston, but I knew it was something I could not pass on. 5 paid days on set, travel expenses, food, and hotels included
"Yes Please!"
Not to mention I got to work with a former Real World cast member who turned out to be awesome and I was able to get lost in the mind of a physicist from UCONN named Ronald L Mallett who is working on time travel. All in all it was great experience and I felt like a B.A.M.F!

Scenic Connecticut

After a little over a year, I finally finished my own video project of stills in Connecticut. At first I was just practicing with my camera phone, but as I continued to go through them I realized how amazing the photos really were and decided to make a slide show video of them.
I am very proud of my work (despite not being the greatest when it comes to that particular kind of work) and glad that in this day of instant technology, I am able to share it.

The Cobblestone Corridor

Hooray!!! I finally got to add "Scripted Television Series" to my resume!!!
Although I didn't get to work closely with the script, I did get to read it and watch some of the scenes which were very funny and it gave me a clue of what to expect on a film set. There were stunts, fight choreography, over 100 extras, and amazing craft services. Overall, I had a great time and learned a lot. Can't wait to work on more projects like it!
Side Note:
I actually got this job from the PA I worked with on Project Runway.
(You can see her hair in the photo of Tim Gunn)
